About Double Feature show March 16- 19

A.J Finney - Stylistically manic, artistically brilliant, AJ Finney is an eclectic midwesterner with a passion for the psychedelic scene of the Sixties. Comedy, jam bands and Volkswagens — that’s him. He’s an eco-friendly, improvisational, sometimes philosophical, patchouli-soaked quipster. AJ’s organic approach is refreshing and his poetic stream of consciousness style makes for a colorful and unforgettable comedic experience. His audience (much like the Deadheads) are finding him through alternative venues such as music festivals, head shops, and record stores. In 2014 AJ was crowned “Best of the Midwest” winner at Gilda’s LaughFest in Grand Rapids, was featured on the FOX television show Laughs, and was one of the 100 performers chosen for Season 8 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. In 2013 he was a semifinalist in the Comedy Central talent search Up Next, as well as a finalist in the 2011 San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He was voted “Best in Fest” at the 2011 Detroit LaughFest and was a finalist in HBO’s Lucky 21 comedy competition. AJ is an effective and engaging storyteller with a rhythm that quickly pulls you into his world. You'll laugh until you leave and then later you'll laugh again.
Mike James -Born and raised in Nashville, TN Mike James was put on earth to make people laugh. After years of studying comedy greats such as the late great Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Ellen Degeneres, and Dave Chappelle, Mike decided it was his time to make a name for himself. With his improvisation skills and over-exaggerating brand of comedy, Mike has quickly become one of Nashville’s hottest acts. He often uses his experiences as a father, a husband, and a generally very confused man to relate to his audience in a hilarious montage of miscommunication and everyday observations. Mike has performed at some of the top comedy clubs all over the country, and is beginning to tap into the overseas market, but will always call Zanies in Nashville his home club. Mike has opened up for various national headliners including , Loni Love, Ralphie May, Rosie O'Donnell, Arsenio Hall, Earthquake, Gilbert Gottfried, and Kevin Hart to name a few. The moment that was most special to Mike was opening for legendary civil rights activist Dick Gregory as he stated "It's extremely rare to be in the presence of such an iconic person. Working with such greats has given Mike a greater understanding of what it means to be a comedian. "Over the years I've learned to appreciate every moment onstage. I've learned not to do comedy, but to live comedy. Life is short, but laughter is eternal!
