Jeremiah "JJ" Williamson, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, (The Sip) has made a significant impact on the comedy scene with his unique blend of relatability, charismatic wit, and hometown country flavor. Since 1995, JJ has been a prominent figure in comedy clubs nationwide, earning acclaim for his versatility as both a comedian and actor.
He has shared the stage with comedy giants like Chris Tucker, D.L. Hughley, and Rickey Smiley, while maintaining a humble approach, often attributing his success to hard work and paying dues. For the past 15 years, JJ has served as the opening act for Cedric "The Entertainer," showcasing his talent in renowned venues such as the Los Angeles and Miami Improv, the Comedy Store in L.A., Chicago House of Blues, Caroline’s in New York, and the historic Apollo Theatre in Harlem.
In addition to his stand-up comedy, JJ made a splash in acting with his debut role as Cousin Bodie in the hit movie "Johnson Family Vacation," alongside Cedric "The Entertainer," Vanessa Williams, Bow-Wow, and Steve Harvey. His television appearances include BET, HBO, "The Monique Show," Russell Simmons's "Def Comedy Jam," and "Cedric The Entertainer Presents." JJ's comedic prowess earned him the Bay Area Comedy Competition award in 2000.
Currently, JJ co-hosts the Nationally Syndicated "DeDe In The Morning Show" from 5am-11am on weekdays, further solidifying his presence in the entertainment industry.
